The Role

Discovery Holiday Parks is embracing the new normal and is undertaking an historic transformation to build the Park and Digital Experience of the future. Accordingly, significant investment is being made into technology and business processes to develop custom attribution and predictive models focusing on customer behavior across our entire accommodation network. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to use the latest Microsoft tools and technologies to drive actionable insights to add value to the business.

The Data Scientist will apply the latest data science techniques within the context of our customers and business, to improve customer experience and drive returns.

This role will require you to;

·      Lead the team that provides customer insights to the business across the customer journey

·      Apply your broad skill-set across data and analytics to understand business problems, create insights and provide practical solutions

·      Provide business solutions and optimisation through various statistical and quantitative methods

·      Provide statistical models to support predictive analytics and deliver non-technical presentations to all levels of the business as well as technical documentation to the wider team

·      Identify and develop the capability to track detailed competitor data and leverage existing internal data to inform smart customer lead decision making

·      Conduct investigative analytics reports to inform the customer journey experience

·      Liaise closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, you will have a collaborative personal style and be commercial as well as customer focused

Your Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Finance, Economics along with working knowledge of data science, analytics, or data engineering is essential to the success of this role.

To be successful in this role you will have proficiency and experience in statistical modelling and machine learning techniques combined with a high level of proficiency with programming languages used in data science. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills which will be utilised when working across cross function teams and external stakeholders.

You will possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative, flexibility and attention to detail to be successful in meeting the business demands at Discovery Parks. Your naturally upbeat and open style will fit our cultural values. You will have a highly organised mindset with the ability to assess the urgency of work allocated to you by various stakeholders.
