The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive individual to join our Concrete and Aggregates team at our Birkenhead site.

No prior testing experience is required – full training will be provided for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.

As a Field Tester, you will play a key role in supporting our operations and customers by conducting on-site testing of concrete and construction materials across a range of projects. This is a hands-on, field-based role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to work across multiple sites and gain practical industry experience.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, this is a permanent full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site sampling and testing of concrete and construction materials
  • Travel to customer and project sites to perform field testing activities
  • Perform testing in accordance with relevant Australian Standards
  • Record, report and communicate test results accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain testing equipment, including calibration and basic maintenance
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, work instructions and company standards
  • Support the laboratory team with sample preparation and testing as required
  • Ensure quality standards and customer requirements are consistently met

What you will need to succeed

  • A strong interest in construction materials or starting a career in the industry
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence (essential)
  • Ability and willingness to work across multiple sites and environments
  • Construction White Card (desirable but not essential)
  • Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or similar (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong work ethic, reliability and a proactive attitude
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills (training can be provided)
  • Strong commitment to safety
