The Facilities Lead role will manage onsite building operations and compliance at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) and the Corporate Services Building (CSB).

About Oral Health Victoria  

Oral Health Victoria (formerly Dental Health Services Victoria) was established in 1996 and is the leading public oral health agency in Victoria.  

We help to provide Victorians with quality oral healthcare through The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) and by purchasing dental services for public patients from more than 50 community health agencies throughout Victoria.

Overview of the role:

The Facilities Lead role is to manage onsite building operations and compliance at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) and the Corporate Services Building (CSB). This will include programmed maintenance, repair maintenance and minor works. Building management includes plant equipment, buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on maintenance procedures, ensuring full compliance with building codes and essential safety measures.
  • Coordinate all maintenance activities, managing both internal teams and external contractors to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.
  • Lead essential services audits and risk management programs, maintaining compliance with all statutory, quality and performance standards.
  • Champion emergency management procedures and ensure adherence to building, cleaning, and security services standards.
  • Take charge of minor capital works—managing procurement, delivery, handover, and defect resolution from start to finish.
  • Develop and continuously improve induction and training programs for facilities staff and contractors.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and proactive communication around building operations.
  • Lead, guide and support the facilities operations team, allocating tasks and driving efficiency across both technical and administrative functions.

About You:

  • A qualification in Building Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • A solid background in Facilities or Building Management, ideally in a complex or healthcare environment
  • Strong understanding of customer service principles in a facilities context
  • Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively, and manage diverse stakeholder expectations
