Oral Health Victoria (formerly Dental Health Services Victoria) is the leading public oral health agency in Victoria. We aim to improve the oral health of all Victorians, particularly vulnerable groups, and those most in need. OHV is funded by the State Government to provide clinical dental services to eligible Victorians. About the role: 

We have four positions available for experienced and dynamic dentists to join our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) Team. Commencing in January 2026, this is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic surgical team where you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of complex and varied clinical cases. Working alongside leading experts in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, you'll benefit from structured learning, hands-on experience, and ongoing support that helps you advance your professional goals. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Working under the direction of our senior staff in the delivery of oral and maxillofacial surgery. services, including as primary operator in dentoalveolar surgery.
  • Screening and triaging referrals to the OMS Unit.
  • Providing patient education and liaise with other specialties within the hospital’s referral pathways.
  • Providing necessary post-surgical aftercare and follow-up. 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An interest in dentoalveolar surgery, wanting to pursue specialist training in OMS. 
  • Current, unrestricted AHPRA registration and current working with children card. 
  • Experience in treating a variety of patients including children, special needs, and those with complex medical histories.  
  • An excellent communicator, highly organised and thorough, with high attention to detail.
  • Two years of surgical experience post-graduation is preferred but not essential for the right applicant.
