About Dental Health Services Victoria: 

Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) was established in 1996 and is the leading public oral health agency in Victoria. We aim to improve the oral health of all Victorians, particularly vulnerable groups and those most in need. DHSV is funded by the State Government to provide clinical dental services to eligible Victorians. 

We help to provide Victorians with quality oral healthcare through The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and by purchasing dental services for public patients from more than 50 community health agencies throughout Victoria. Sounds like a place you want to be? 

About the role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM), reporting to the Head of Unit, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS). You will be responsible for providing specialist OMS services within the scope of a publicly funded dental service, including patients with disabilities and complex medical histories. You will also act as a consultant in relation to the specialty and liaise closely with other clinical services and service providers. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing direct, quality patient care in accordance with DHSV clinical standards and policies. 
  • Managing patients within competency and experience levels. 
  • Undertaking clinical supervision/direction/support of surgical registrars and house dentists. 

To be successful in this role you will need: 

  • Specialist qualification recognised with AHPRA. 
  • Knowledge in the management of dental public health programs. 
  • Experience in providing clinical leadership and supervising clinical duties of staff. 
  • Experience in treating clients with high needs
