About the role
Oral Health Victoria have two positions for highly motivated, qualified and experienced Dental Laboratory Technicians to work at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. You will have the opportunity to specialise in your chosen area and will also have the opportunity to provide technical support and supervision to Melbourne Dental School and RMIT students as required.
We are looking for a Dental Technician who are competent in the following Department;
Fixed prosthesis/Crown& Bridge/Implant Technician:
(If you have experience with 3D printers, we would also love to hear from you)
These roles will suit Dental Technician's with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
You might currently be working in a private or public setting, seeking a new and exciting challenge? Or you may be wanting to try something that is a little different to what you're used to or reduce your hours? You will have access to plenty of professional development and 1:1 support from the team as well as your manager.
You will also have access to the wider hospital network of clinical leaders and the broader Oral Health Victoria Victoria team to help support you to succeed in this role.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Certified Dental Technician
- In-depth knowledge of dental prostheses, devices, and related technologies
- Experience in constructing, replacing, repairing, and restoring dental devices
- Experience in dental laboratory computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, such as 3 Shape and Emax/Zirconia milling technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build-up and finishing for a range of products in the Fixed Pros Crown & Bridge/Implant Department.
- Technical Consultation and knowledge on dental appliances
- Fabrication of all metal, all ceramic, PFM, Emax and monolithic zirconia crown & bridges
- Fabrication of veneers and casting post & core
- Staining, glazing and layering of crown & bridges.
- Implant Crown & Bridge work
- Quality of work completed
- Good organisational skills to prioritising tasks and meet deadlines.
- An experienced team player who meets and exceeds team goals.
- Self-motivated, positive and willing to learn.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the integrity of OHV.
