About the role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Engineer within our Facilities Management team. You will support the safe and efficient operation of our buildings and day-to-day facility activities. You’ll liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate maintenance and repair works with minimal disruption to clinical operations.

This hands-on role involves overseeing minor projects, from planning to delivery, supporting larger projects, and managing building services including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, fire, and hydraulics systems. You’ll assess and resolve infrastructure issues, engage contractors, and ensure all works are completed to a high, compliant standard.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Supervise and coordinate contractors to ensure maintenance and compliance requirements are met in line with schedules, safety standards, and legislation.
  • Manage contractor inductions, scheduling, and OH&S compliance.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and compliance schedules.
  • Conduct asset data analysis, risk assessments, and lifecycle audits to support effective asset management.
  • Build strong internal relationships and ensure reactive maintenance issues are resolved promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and ensure data integrity within the asset management system.
  • Drive service improvements through data insights, feedback, and innovation.
  • Promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices across facilities operations.
  • Support continuity plans for critical infrastructure and assist with emergency management responses.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support operational priorities.

To be successful in this role you will need: 

  • Degree or qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of building asset management systems and building management systems (BMS).
  • Understanding of safety procedures for managing works.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure while coordinating multiple tasks efficiently.
