About the role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM). This role will report to the Head of Unit – Oral Medicine. You will be responsible for providing and coordinating specialized pain physiotherapy services for the assessment and rehabilitation of individuals with Temporomandibular disorder. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide high quality physiotherapy services as part of a multidisciplinary team, treating chronic pain patients.
  • Provide assessment and treatment of cervicothoracic musculoskeletal conditions, with a special interest in temporomandibular disorders.
  • Advise, consult, and liaise with relevant clinical teams, other health professionals and external agencies to optimise patient care and service delivery in the clinical specialty area.
  • Work independently and as part of a team providing services and resources to the oral medicine department.
  • Provide education to members of the multidisciplinary team in the area of physiotherapy in pain management.

To be successful in this role you will need: 

  • A Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy
  • Eligibility to be registered as a Physiotherapist under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Unrestricted physiotherapist AHPRA registration.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the assessment and treatment of cervicothoracic musculoskeletal conditions, particularly as they relate to temporomandibular disorders.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the mechanisms and management of chronic pain conditions.
  • Relevant clinical experience.
