The Opportunity:
We are seeking Modelling & Simulation Engineers to join our growing consulting team supporting Defence capability analysis and system development.
In this role, you will work as a technical consultant, partnering with Defence stakeholder to understand complex problems, develop modelling and simulation approaches, and deliver clear, defensible insights that inform capability decisions.
You will contribute across the full lifecycle, from engaging with clients and shaping requirements, through building models, running simulation, analysing results and communicating outcomes. Our work spans domains include electronic warfare, radar, space systems, guided weapons and emerging technologies.
This role suits engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, working closely with clients and applying technical rigour to real-world Defence challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with Defence clients to understand operational problems, objectives and constraints
• Support requirements definition and translate client needs into modelling and simulation approaches
• Design, develop and apply models of complex systems (e.g. RF, radar, EW, space, weapons, sensors)
• Conduct scenario modelling, simulation execution and experimentation (including Monte Carlo analysis)
• Integrate models and simulation environments to support system of systems analysis
• Develop simulation software, interfaces and data pipelines using modern engineering practices
• Validate, verify and calibrate models against benchmarks or real world data
• Analyse simulation results and produce clear, defensible insights
• Communicate technical outcomes to both technical and non technical stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement of modelling tools, workflows and methodologies
Technologies & Tools:
You may work with one or more of the following, depending on project needs:
• Programming & Development: Python, C++, MATLAB, object oriented design, testing frameworks
• Modelling & Simulation Environments: MATLAB/Simulink, STK, AFSIM, or other similar Defence environments.
• Analysis & Visualisation: SIMDIS, STK visualisation, custom analytics and plotting tools
• Integration & Automation: APIs, data pipelines, workflow automation, batch simulation execution
• Emerging Areas (desirable): AI/ML in modelling contexts, multi agent systems, advanced analytics
About You:
You are a technically capable engineer who enjoys working in consulting environments, where collaboration, communication and adaptability are as important as technical depth.
You bring:
• Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
• Experience in software engineering, systems engineering, modelling, simulation or analytics
• The ability to engage with clients, ask the right questions and clarify ambiguous requirements
• Confidence explaining complex technical concepts clearly and concisely

• A willingness to learn new tools, domains and technologies
