We are seeking experienced Project Engineering Managers to join the newly established DEWC Services Canberra office to oversee and execute engineering strategies for highly complex C4ISREW project engineering activities.

The Project Engineering Manager will: 

• Have oversight of the engineering strategy and execution of the project engineering activities including system design, planning, progress monitoring, auditing, and reporting. 

• Identify and manage technical risks affecting project delivery and take corrective action when necessary.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that projects meet technical, schedule, and budget requirements.

• Develop and maintain engineering/ technical project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and progress reports.

• Provide leadership and support, embedding DEWC’s strong corporate values within the newly established Canberra team.  

What we are looking for

• Undergraduate engineering degree with applied Defence experience across one or more of the following: electronics, communications, radio frequency (RF), radar.

• Skills and/or experience in RADAR, RF/microwave telecommunications, SATCOM, Electro-optic systems, signals processing/analysis and Defence intelligence (desirable). 

• Demonstrated project management experience in Defence or aligned industries with complex and dynamic environments (essential) supported through additional higher-level project management qualifications (desirable).

• Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to elicit system requirements, understand system design and oversee project engineering activities.

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Capability Life Cycle, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and overarching application to associated engineering activities.

• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to monitor and report highly technical information.
