About the opportunity

As a result of a recent promotion, we’re pleased to invite applications for the position of Inventory Planning Leader.

Reporting to the Group Manager, Demand, and Inventory, you’ll be an important member of the Group Supply Chain leadership team, driving service excellence and lowering costs in the supply, and management of inventory for the Detmold Group. 

Leading a team of Inventory planners, you’ll coordinate and deliver high quality services to our operations and sales community, maintaining inventory levels in line with service level agreements and key performance indicators.

Your energy and enthusiasm will be key as you motivate and inspire your team to deliver great results.

As a natural communicator, you readily engage and establish rapport; you are calm and responsive, set clear expectations and focus on accountability. 

You provide meaningful feedback and opportunities to develop skills and capability. 

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Provide leadership that will challenge, develop, and inspire the Inventory Planning team. 
  • Expand and improve Group Supply Chain systems and ordering methodology globally.
  • Drive service excellence and delivery in full, on time (DIFOT) levels to 95%+ for the sales businesses. 
  • Drive reductions in finished goods required to meet service expectations.
  • Work with sales businesses to manage inventory levels to budgets.
  • Support sales to reduce aged stock and increase inventory turns.

About you 

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Significant inventory planning experience with solid business analytics capability.
  • Proven success in leading teams and developing people.
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to balance working on/leading projects, performing daily activities and troubleshooting.
  • High level proficiency in analysing data for strategic understanding.
  • Intermediate Excel capability and strong data management skills

While not essential, a tertiary qualification in business, business management or supply chain will be highly regarded.
