About the opportunity

As part of significant growth and a healthy pipeline, a new opportunity has been created in the B2B arm of Detpak, part of the global Detmold Group – global innovator of sustainable paper and board packaging solutions.

We invite applications from experienced and commercially astute Business Development Managers to join us in this critical role.

Based in Brompton, SA, and reporting to the Regional Sales Manager Industrial – Australasia, you will manage the largest single account for Detpak and be responsible for increasing sales and revenue. 

Your key focus will be on identifying and pursuing new markets, new customers, and new opportunities for us to develop products to satisfy the needs of our diverse customer base.

The ability to understand and interpret needs, combined with your business savvy and creative thinking, will see you develop solutions to satisfy your customers’ requirements.  

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Drive growth within your territory to achieve sales budgets, new business, and profit targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and sell to relevant customers and prospects.
  • Plan and execute sales activity to drive increased penetration of product/services into market segments.
  • Target and achieve new business through a sustainable planned program.
  • Identify, evaluate, and convert new businesses opportunities.
  • Drive growth, range, and product expansion of existing accounts. 
  • Manage key relationships to ensure professional representation and integrity of the brand.

About you 

 What you’ll need:

  • Significant experience in a similar role in a B2B environment, ideally FMCG or manufacturing.
  • A mechanical aptitude and an understanding of end-to-end production, filling/production lines. 
  • Sound commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to think outside of the box.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships and networks.
  • High levels of energy, enthusiasm, and self -motivation.
  • The ability to work independently and as a member of a cohesive and high performing team. 
  • A current, unrestricted driver’s license

You will be required to travel as required.
