Job no: NJ8G8
Category: Indirect

We’re seeking an Application Engineer to deliver enhancements and 2nd‑level support across our ERP and connected applications/integrations. You’ll work end-to-end—from capturing business needs and designing solutions to configuring, testing, and deploying changes—while collaborating closely with cross-functional project teams and business users across the group.

If you’re a pragmatic problem-solver who thrives at the intersection of technology, process, and people, this role offers scope, variety, and impact.

What you’ll do

  • Enhance & support the ERP and supporting applications/integrations (mix of BAU and project work).
  • Translate business needs into system requirements and design fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Configure/customise applications; write functional/technical specs; design and execute test cases; deploy changes.
  • Provide 2nd-level support: troubleshoot issues, raise and manage vendor tickets, validate and deliver fixes.
  • Lead/work within cross-functional teams to map detailed requirements, workflows, data flows, and specs.
  • Apply analytic methods to diagnose issues, optimise processes, and improve stability/performance.
  • Operate within project/support governance frameworks—and contribute to their improvement.
  • Balance local user needs with a group-wide common operating model.
  • Communicate proactively with users, vendors, and internal support teams; document clearly and share knowledge.
  • Occasional international travel to group sites.

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Systems/Software Engineering, Analytics, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years’ experience working with ERP applications in manufacturing, distribution, or trading environments.
  • Strong functional understanding of ERP domains (Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Inventory, Sales, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, etc.).
  • Proven experience with software delivery practices (Agile/Waterfall), from requirements through to testing and release.
  • High degree of technical aptitude and business acumen; outcome-oriented with sound judgement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across teams, functions, and levels.
  • Detail-focused, organised, and able to deliver on large projects with international stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience with Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or other Tier-1 ERPs.
  • Exposure to SQL, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, SSRS, REST APIs, JSON, XML.
  • Knowledge of network concepts (cloud, LAN/WAN, subnetting) is a plus.
  • Experience in end-user training.
  • Additional languages (e.g., Bahasa, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog) are an advantage.

How you work

  • Proactive communicator who asks questions, learns fast, and leans into new challenges.
  • Customer-centric with empathy for end users and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset; calm and effective under pressure.
  • Collaborative, able to build trust with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Safety-minded and values-led; contributes positively to team culture and ways of working.

Why join us

  • Shape a group-wide ERP modernisation with visible business outcomes.
  • Variety: blend of enhancement delivery, integration work, and 2nd‑level support.
  • Collaboration across a supportive, cross-functional team with international exposure.
  • Growth: build deep product knowledge and broaden your technical and functional skills.
