Estimating Manager
Lead with Precision. Drive Performance. Shape Commercial Outcomes.
Detmold Group is a global leader in sustainable paper and board packaging, and we’re seeking a high‑performing Estimating Manager to lead a key commercial function within our fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Based at our Adelaide HQ, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on pace, accuracy, teamwork and continuous improvement — not long project cycles. You’ll lead a small, capable estimating team and work closely with stakeholders across Commercial, Sales, Procurement and Manufacturing to deliver competitive, data‑driven product cost estimates that support global growth.
About the Role
This is a high‑volume, fast‑moving estimating environment where agility, precision and collaboration are essential.
You will:
- Lead, coach and develop the Estimating Team.
- Oversee timely and accurate cost estimates using internal systems and data sources.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to clarify requirements and ensure data quality.
- Improve processes, systems integration and service delivery.
- Apply commercial insight to support pricing, strategy and business decisions.
- Maintain and strengthen data integrity across estimating systems.
- Provide reporting and insights to monitor performance and inform stakeholders.
If you enjoy working with data, optimising processes and influencing commercial outcomes, this is a chance to lead a function that directly impacts our growth trajectory.
What You’ll Bring
You’ll have experience in manufacturing, packaging or other fast‑paced operational environments where cost estimation and commercial analysis are central to success.
We’re looking for:
- Experience in estimating, cost modelling, planning or commercial operations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data with accuracy.
- Proven capability leading a small team and managing workflow.
- Proficiency in quoting or ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
- Commercial acumen with a practical, improvement‑focused mindset.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional partners.
Desirable:
Qualifications in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Accounting or Industrial/Product Design; experience with product costing in manufacturing.
