The Injury Prevention Specialist plays a key role in creating a safer, healthier workplace by proactively reducing injuries and supporting safe, sustainable work practices across our organisation. This role designs, implements and evaluates injury prevention programs, conducts ergonomic and functional risk assessments, develops job dictionaries, and partners with leaders and workers to identify and control injury risks.
About the opportunity
The Detmold Group is looking for a passionate Injury Prevention Specialist to join our Health & Safety Team. In this role, you will play a critical part in proactively reducing workplace injuries, supporting our self‑insurance framework, and empowering our teams to work safely and confidently across both office and manufacturing environments.
You will work closely with leaders and frontline employees, using your injury management expertise to guide early intervention, return‑to‑work coordination, and the development of practical prevention programs.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and implement injury prevention programs (e.g. manual handling, ergonomic risk reduction, task redesign, early intervention programs) aligned to site risk profiles.
- Conduct ergonomic and manual task risk assessments for production lines, packing stations, warehousing, and office roles.
- Lead Job Dictionary/Task Analysis creation and maintenance to inform recruitment, training, RTW planning, and risk controls.
- Pilot and scale evidence-based interventions (e.g., warm-up/stretch programs, micro-break design, mechanical aids, rotation plans).
- Develop and document tailored Return to Work (RTW) plans in collaboration with employees, treating providers, and supervisors, ensuring compliance with South Australian self-insurance and legislative requirements.
About you
- Experience in injury management, RTW coordination or workplace rehabilitation.
- Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels.
- Ability to work independently across varied work environments.
- Knowledge of WHS and workers compensation legislation.
- Desirable: experience in a self‑insured environment.
- Desirable: Formal qualification in an allied health profession
What we offer:
- A commitment to your ongoing professional development.
- A commitment to corporate social responsibility – we support local communities and charities and are committed to sustainable and ethical sourcing.
- A health and wellbeing program so you feel supported to be at your best.
- Access to an active social club.
- The chance to develop your career in a global organisation with strong values and a genuine focus on safety
