About our Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Business Enablement team. Reporting to the Lead Business Analytics Developer, this position works across the business to help translate data into information and insight. Essentially this role contributes to our data design and helps our users make sense of its data.
More specifically you will:
- Leverage in-depth technical, systems and application expertise to implement, support and improve the current data platform and business intelligence solutions
- Develop data integration, data modelling and data visualisation projects
- Improve processes regarding data flow and quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value
- Consult with the business to identify and recommend approaches for improving BI-related services and processes in line with strategic objectives
- Working with internal and external stakeholders on a wide range of datasets
- Continuously identify areas of improvement and ensure application of standards and best practices
- Promoting and embedding secure data governance practices
- Sharing knowledge and work as part of a team that support each other
- Troubleshoot issues and incidents related to BI services
About You
- Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL database
- Strong skills including SQL Server database, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, MDS, and Power BI
- Strong understanding of ELT and ETL processes for data warehouse / data lake
- Skills in PowerShell scripting
- Experience working in a complex enterprise data environment of ERP, CRM, HCM, PLM and other systems
- Working knowledge of data warehousing methodologies
- Experience working in an agile development methodology
- Experience with data integration technologies and API management (including Boomi, Mulesoft or similar)
- Ability to think innovatively and to be comfortable dealing with uncertainty
- Self-motivated, with a positive attitude towards keeping abreast of new learnings and technologies
