About the Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a hands-on and engaging Manufacturing Manager with strong frontline leadership and hands on skills to join our Cup & Carry facility and support the delivery of the business’s strategic plan whilst ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations on a permanent full-time basis within our production area.

Working closely with the Print Team Leaders and Operations Manager, this role will see you owning the operations, ensuring key production processes are achieved, including but not limited to:

  • Championing safety-first behaviours and the Detmold Way values in all that you do
  • Acting as an escalation point for any WHS, product safety or non-conformance matters, and liaising with the appropriate stakeholders to rectify accordingly (including conducting customer complaint or incident investigations and compiling the necessary reporting documentation)
  • Monitoring production schedules and performance to ensure plans are achieved in full and on time
  • Managing labour to ensure shift and machine changeovers, scheduled line start-ups, cleaning, and meal breaks are carried out efficiently
  • Monitoring team performance and behaviours and addressing any unsatisfactory performance in consultation with the respective area
  • Coordinating activities with the Maintenance and Production teams to minimise down time

 Success will be based on:

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and proven track record in contributing to a safety culture
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar production/operational management role – preferably in a complex and high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Understanding of GMP and Food Safety principles as they apply to production areas
  • An open, honest, and collaborative approach
  • Understanding of and/or previous experience with 5s and Lean Manufacturing principles – desirable
  • Ability to navigate competing demands and maintain both performance and composure under pressure
