Estimating Manager

We’re seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating function and support the growth of our global packaging business. Based at our Adelaide HQ, this role is critical in ensuring our product cost estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with strategic business goals.
About the Role
As Estimating Manager, you’ll oversee the end-to-end estimating process for new business opportunities across our global operations. You’ll lead a team of estimators, manage workflows, and collaborate with stakeholders across Commercial, Sales, Procurement, and Manufacturing to ensure timely and accurate costings.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to interpret data, improve systems, and guide decision-making will directly influence business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor the Estimating Team, setting priorities and supporting performance.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate product cost estimates using internal systems and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify product requirements and ensure data quality.
- Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes, systems integration, and service delivery.
- Support strategic projects by applying commercial insight and cost modelling expertise.
- Maintain and improve data integrity within estimating systems.
- Provide reporting and insights to support business decisions and service level monitoring.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in a similar estimating, planning, or commercial operations role—ideally within manufacturing or packaging.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to apply a strategic lens to decision making
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and validate complex data.
- Experience leading a team and managing workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in quoting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- A structured, solutions-focused approach to process improvement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Desirable
- Qualifications in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or Industrial/Product Design.
- Experience working with product costing in a manufacturing environment.
