Packaging Manufacturing | Hands‑on Production Support

Detmold Group, a market‑leading manufacturer of sustainable paper and board packaging, is seeking a reliable and motivated Ink Room Assistant to join our Production team in Adelaide. This role is suited to someone who enjoys practical, hands‑on work in a fast‑paced environment, ideally with exposure to printing, colour, or production processes.

About the Role

Working within our onsite Ink Room, you will play an important role in supporting the preparation and supply of quality ink and colour for our printing operations. You’ll collaborate closely with printers and production teams to ensure production requirements are met and customer expectations are achieved.

This is a casual position with consistent hours available for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with colour matching and preparing hand proofs for customer requirements

• Support the mixing and pre‑preparation of inks to meet daily production plans

• Organise and maintain ink stock, including scanning returns and assisting with stocktakes

• Coordinate drum deliveries and ensure correct storage of materials

• Complete general housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised work area

• Undertake minor equipment tasks such as diluting blade cleans or replacing dispenser sector forks

• Communicate effectively with production teams and internal stakeholders

• Contribute to safety, quality, waste reduction, and product safety standards

• Provide general assistance and ad hoc support within the Ink Room

What You’ll Bring

Essential

• A positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn

• Strong attention to detail, especially around colour, accuracy, and process

• Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with multiple stakeholders

• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email)

• Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a supportive, respectful workplace

Desirable

• Experience in printing, colour, inks, or related production environments

• Understanding of colour mixing, matching, or re‑batching processes
