Finance Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Specialist to join our team in Gladstone, Queensland. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing core financial operations, ensuring compliance, supporting business decision-making, and contributing to the ongoing financial health of the organisation. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyse financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Monitor financial performance and provide insights to management
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including BAS, GST, and payroll tax
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Assist in internal and external audits
• Perform cost and variance analysis across departments or projects
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial guidance
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to system enhancements
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., AASB)

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA qualification desirable)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, MYOB, Xero, or similar ERP systems)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly
• Experience in the resources, energy, or infrastructure sectors (advantageous)
