So, what’s the role?
Reporting to the Head of Risk as the second-line Risk Management SME, the Senior Manager Technology & Operational Risk is a key facilitator for the embedment of the Risk Management Framework and the effective oversight of the Risk Management model at Bank First with a focus on Technology and Cyber Risk, Data Management and Transformation.
The position is responsible for 2nd line oversight of Technology, Data Management and Transformation lines of business (1st line) in their execution, maintenance, delivery and embedment of the Risk Management Framework, Governance and GRC system enablement for Bank First. The role is also responsible for ongoing risk governance and related reporting requirements and delivery of Risk Maturity Strategy deliverables.
With significant experience in 2nd line oversight for Operational and Technology Risk, within the financial services industry, the role will engage closely with the business across Bank First to ensure the Risk Management Framework is operationally effective, understood and embedded, and that an appropriate risk culture is being developed across the relevant lines of business. The role also requires a responsibility for Risk related training to business stakeholders within the remit.
In a typical day, you’ll get to:
- Engage with Operational Leaders and their teams providing oversight, support and challenge with regard to Risk Management and the approved RMF at Bank First.
- Accountable for the effective operation and oversight of key Risk Management activities such as Incident Management, ITSM, Penetration Testing, Vulnerability Management, Project Risk, Risk Assessment and Root Cause Analysis activity and related reporting.
- Guidance and oversight of the business relating to Business Resilience (BIA, BCP and DR requirements), Third-Party Risk, Data Security, Information Security & Cyber.
- Oversight and guidance to business stakeholders for 3rd and 4th Party risk management, independent assurance and adherence to relevant APRA Prudential Standards
- Ensure appropriate Risk Culture measurement is deployed, effective and in place sufficient to produce regular measurement and reporting.
- Be accountable for accurate Risk Management reporting and collateral to support the Risk Governance process including Risk Management systems and relevant Technology ITSM incident reporting
- Provide Technology Risk SME guidance and support for change process (New Products, Projects, Processes and/or Systems) ensuring assessment, reporting, governance and engagement is fully effective.
- Responsible for relevant risk elements as required by the Board, Executive and Business reporting for the defined remit.
- Supporting the Head of Risk to achieve Bank First’s Strategy strategic and business objectives to provide a contemporary and pragmatic second line function.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Commerce, Risk Management, Business or Economics) with significant experience in a line 2 oversight role for a technology based environment.
- Demonstrated experience as a Line 2 Risk Subject Matter Expert, particularly in environments of risk transformation.
- Demonstrated experience in Technology Risk and Data Management in a commercial environment utilising insourced server environment or outsourced cloud environment.
- Demonstrated experience in software development lifecycle oversight.
- Prior experience in delivery of oversight for Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Management, remediation and reporting.
- Able to set and achieve challenging objectives and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, senior and executive management.
