We are seeking a motivated and reliable person to join our team as a Mechanical Apprentice and learn the essential skills required to become a qualified Mechanical Fitter. This hands-on apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic environment while working alongside experienced tradespeople. You will be supported in your development through structured on-the-job training and formal study towards a nationally recognised trade qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems
- Learn to operate tools and machinery safely and effectively
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance under supervision
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
- Participate in toolbox talks and training sessions
- Maintain clean and organised workspaces
- Attend and complete all off-the-job training modules as part of your apprenticeship
Candidate Profile
- Genuine interest in mechanical systems, machinery, and hands-on work
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
- Completion of Year 10 or higher with sound results in Maths and English
- Previous work experience, pre-apprenticeship training, or Certificate II in Engineering (highly regarded)
- Current driver’s licence (preferred but not essential)
