The Opportunity

Join Daltech as our Heavy Mining Equipment Estimator and play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance solutions for major OEM equipment.

Working alongside our experienced Workshop Maintenance Team, you’ll scope, price, and support the delivery of works that keep our clients’ operations running efficiently and reliably.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates and scopes of work for earthmoving equipment repairs and overhauls
  • Break down labour hours, parts, vendor services, and associated costs
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and scheduling
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure clear communication of scope, timelines, and variations
  • Utilise OEM manuals and product support programs to identify value-adding opportunities for clients
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes

What You Bring

  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic (Australian recognised)
  • Strong experience with OEM equipment (CAT, Komatsu, Liebherr, Hitachi)
  • Proven background in a customer-focused environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, and manage multiple estimates to meet deadlines
  • Strong organisational and forecasting skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with exposure to ERP systems highly regarded
