About the role:
Dairy Australia drives herd and feed innovation by delivering outcomes from research and provides insights to support decision making on feeding and farm systems. As National Lead – Farm Systems you will play a significant role in shaping the future of the dairy industry by playing a leadership role in supporting dairy businesses moving to housed systems.
Sitting within our Research and Innovation team you will bring global thought leadership and a commitment to networking and communicating with international and domestic industry experts to ensure clear understanding of existing and emerging innovation in the research space.
This role will actively lead prioritisation of our research, development, and extension investments in Farm Systems and will oversee the development of Dairy Australia services and resources.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Build our Farm Systems domain strategy by creating and maintaining Dairy Australia’s investment roadmap.
- Connect the dots on what is happening in the industry in terms of key trends, challenges, gaps and opportunities for the future.
- Work with a diverse set of external stakeholders such as dairy businesses (including large corporate businesses), government stakeholders, research organisations and service providers.
- Work within a high performing team of National Leads across various aspects of dairy farming and be well supported with depth of knowledge and collaboration within the team.
- Lead, track and evaluate Projects and with cross functional teams to ensure we are achieving our strategic goals
About you:
You are passionate about national and global thought leadership and have a growth mindset - embracing challenges enlivens you . You will be open to new information, ideas, and best on-farm practices, to ensure a profitable and sustainable dairy farming industry.
You bring strategic and commercial thinking and know how to align research and development priorities with dairy farm strategic objectives as highlighted by Dairy Australia.
You will position yourself internally and externally as a person that provides leadership for the Farm Systems domain in the dairy industry, you’re someone who will put farmer and industry needs first.
