About the Role:  

In this Fixed term contract as an Extension Co-ordinator (until February 2025), you will work collaboratively to deliver our workforce attraction strategy for GippsDairy as well as supporting the facilitation and effective operation of 2 discussion groups, the YDN (Young Dairy Network) and AMS (Automatic Milking Systems) group for Gippsland. 

You thrive on building relationships, networks and links within communities that expand knowledge and understanding of the Dairy Industry whilst understanding emerging issues in the region and how they are impacting dairy farmers. You are responsive and will provide support through sharing resources and program information to build capability and knowledge of Dairy Farmers.

Ideally you will be degree qualified in agriculture, business, human resource management or approved equivalent or significant demonstrated experience in the area/s of regional development and communities. You have well-honed communication skills that can be adapted to different audiences.  

We want to hear about your:  

  • Ability to initiate and establish partnerships and networks, maintain effective relationships, and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.  
  • Ability to support the development and updating of resources to ensure current and relevant material is available to dairy farm businesses in the region. 
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering extension, facilitation, or engagement activities.  
  • Demonstrated experience in working with the delivery of information and programs aligned to strategic plans.  
  • Capacity to identify funding opportunities and develop and conduct projects, including the monitoring and evaluation of projects.  
  • Understanding of dairy farmer needs relating to HR and Workplace Health & Safety issues within their business.
