We’re seeking an experienced and commercially focused State Operations Manager to lead our security operations across Queensland. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving performance, growth strengthening client partnerships, and leading a high-performing team across a diverse portfolio.

The role

You’ll take full ownership of the operational and financial performance of a diverse security portfolio across Queensland, ensuring service delivery is consistent, compliant, aligned with contractual and exceeds client expectations.

Leading a team of Operations Managers and frontline security personnel, you’ll drive accountability, performance, and a strong service culture across all sites. You’ll play a critical role in building and maintaining senior client relationships, acting as a trusted partner, managing escalations, and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen service delivery and add value.

With a strong focus on operational excellence, you’ll oversee the execution of security services across your portfolio, ensuring risk is effectively managed, standards are upheld, and outcomes are delivered in line with both client and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee security operations across multiple sites in QLD
  • Manage client relationships and act as a key escalation point
  • Drive financial performance, budgets, and operational efficiency
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert and support Challengers Sales team in Tenders and Proposals
  • Actively seek opportunities to grow the business. We consider this a Growth role that offers future opportunities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and operational teams
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, industry standards, and company requirements
  • Oversee incident management, investigations, and reporting
  • Support mobilisation of new sites and projects
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the portfolio

 

About you

You’re a confident and capable leader who can balance people, performance, and client expectations. You bring a proactive mindset and are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

  • Proven experience in a senior operations role (security industry highly regarded)
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and KPIs
  • Ability to lead large, dispersed teams and drive performance outcomes
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with rostering/workforce systems (e.g. Guardhouse or similar)

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Business, Management, or similar (preferred)
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in operations or security leadership
  • Current QLD Security Licence
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
