The opportunity

Due to a staff relocation, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Operations Manager to join Challenger and lead a portfolio of commercial and aged care cleaning services across [sites/location to be confirmed].

This is a hands-on operational leadership role with responsibility for service delivery, client relationships, workforce performance and the day-to-day management of cleaning operations across the portfolio.

You will lead and support a multi-site workforce, working closely with our clients and operational teams to deliver consistently high standards of cleanliness, safety and customer service.


What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day service delivery and operational performance of cleaning services across a portfolio of commercial and aged care sites.
  • Provide visible leadership, coaching and support to frontline teams and supervisors.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and respond proactively to operational requirements.
  • Ensure residents and clients experience consistently high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
  • Monitor performance against contractual requirements, SOPs, policies and agreed service standards.
  • Oversee workforce planning and rostering to ensure operational, Award and budget requirements are met.
  • Drive a safe, engaged and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, productivity and operational performance.
  • Monitor key operational measures and provide regular reporting and insights to the business.
  • Work collaboratively with internal support functions to resolve issues and deliver positive outcomes for clients and employees.


What you’ll need

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing cleaning operations and teams across multiple sites.
  • Previous commercial cleaning experience within aged care or a similarly regulated service environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing operational teams.
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • A sound understanding of commercial cleaning processes, equipment, chemical handling and WHS requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing operational priorities across multiple locations.
  • Good commercial awareness, including workforce planning, rostering and budget management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to take ownership of operational issues.
  • Working knowledge of the Cleaning Services Award would be highly regarded.

You will also require, or be willing to obtain where applicable:

  • A valid driver licence.
  • A current Police Check.
  • A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Any vaccinations or health clearances required to work within our client’s aged care environments.
