About the Role

Reporting to the senior bid writer, you'll play an important role in producing persuasive, client-focused tender submissions that showcase Challenger's capability, innovation, and value proposition.

Working three days per week, you'll partner with operational leaders, sales teams and subject matter experts to coordinate tender responses, develop tailored content, and deliver high-quality submissions across a diverse portfolio of opportunities.

This role offers exposure to strategic government tenders, national service contracts, and complex multi-service bids, while providing the flexibility of part-time employment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop high-quality, tailored bid and tender responses that clearly articulate Challenger's capability and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders, sales teams, and subject matter experts to develop winning submission strategies.
  • Translate complex operational information into clear, compelling, and customer-focused content.
  • Coordinate the collection and review of information to ensure submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
  • Research clients, competitors, and market trends to strengthen bid strategies.
  • Maintain and enhance the bid knowledge library, templates, and supporting content.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen Challenger's bid capability.
  • Manage multiple submissions while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail.

About You

You'll be an experienced bid professional who understands that successful tenders require strategic thinking, collaboration, and exceptional communication.

You'll also bring:

  • Previous experience preparing successful bids, tenders, or proposals.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong project coordination and time management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability.
  • Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and bid management systems.
  • Qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

Why Join Challenger?

  • Permanent part-time position (3 days per week) offering genuine work-life balance.
  • Work on high-profile bids across a diverse range of industries and national clients.
  • Play a meaningful role in shaping Challenger's continued growth.
  • Enjoy autonomy while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.
  • Modern offices located in Port Melbourne.
  • Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities.
  • A supportive culture where people are trusted, recognised, and encouraged to contribute new ideas.
