About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced State Operations Manager to ensure that cleaning operational teams are supported and enabled to achieve the high service delivery standards expected by Challenger Services Group and our Clients. This role is responsible for the management of commercial cleaning sites in NSW but largely around Sydney and associated areas. You will ensure that your sites are running efficiently, while monitoring and mentoring supervisors and team members. The role has a strong focus on maintaining strong and positive client relationships, analysing and reporting on results as well as team building, team management and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee our NSW portfolio of commercial cleaning operations, including those taking place in commercial offices, retail centres, childcare, aged care facilities and large public spaces
- Oversee and manage the NSW Commercial Cleaning Operations Team
- Be hands on in ensuring the delivery of our service requirements
- Have a full understanding of Industry Best Practice cleaning procedures and the latest innovations in the cleaning industry
- Develop, implement and oversee compliant and cost-effective rosters, in line with budgetary and industrial instrument requirements
- Ensure KPIs and agreed scopes across the State portfolio are being achieved
- Oversee, train, motivate & support your team members, including managing underperformers
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and other departments
- Professionally deal with feedback from clients and deliver on improvement initiatives
- Be proactive in all aspects of service delivery
- Prepare, maintain and oversee checklists, scopes and similar workflow management records
- Ensure all safety, quality, people and operational issues are correctly implemented and reported
- Assist the sales team with the preparation of estimates
- Always strive to make a positive impact, improve procedures, outcomes and client experience
About You:
You are an experienced operations leader with over five years of experience in commercial cleaning and facilities management. Skilled in managing multi-site teams, mobilising large contracts, and delivering high service standards, you excel in fast-paced environments with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and client satisfaction. With a hands-on leadership style, you drive operational excellence, foster team development, and support long-term business growth.
- Proven leadership skills with a strong desire to mentor and nurture a high performing team
- At least 5 years’ experience as a senior operations manager within the Commercial Cleaning and Facilities Management industry, overseeing multiple sites whilst meeting KPI's and achieving superior service delivery outcomes
- Proven experience in successfully mobilizing large start up cleaning operations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficient computer literacy, particularly with Excel and Word
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Experience, willingness and availability to work in a shift environment
- Understanding and application of all Best Practice safety and compliance procedures
- Have a current unrestricted driver’s licence
- Ambition and solid work ethic as this is a role where the right person can grow and develop their career
- Current Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance Certificate and NDIS worker screening clearance or the ability to readily obtain these certificates
