About the Role
As part of Challenger’s National Sales and Marketing Team, and reporting directly to the General Manager of Growth, this is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for driving Challenger’s expansion within the Food & Beverage and Food Manufacturing sectors - with a particular focus on specialist hygiene and deep cleaning services.
You will leverage your industry knowledge, audit ready mindset, relationships, and commercial acumen to identify new business opportunities, strengthen client partnerships, and position Challenger as the trusted provider of hygiene-critical solutions.
Some interstate travel will be required to meet clients and support national growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities within the Food Manufacturing, Processing, and Beverage sectors
• Build and maintain strong relationships with operations, quality, and compliance leaders, regulators and industry bodies across the industry sector
• Develop and execute strategies to grow Challenger’s specialist food manufacturing cleaning and sanitation service portfolio
• Collaborate with internal teams across operations, finance, and marketing to develop customer-focused solutions
• Use HubSpot CRM to manage leads, track pipeline activity, and report on performance metrics
• Intimately understand our Technology stack and how it enables customer excellence, reporting and continuous improvement
• Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform sales and commercial strategies
• Prepare high-quality proposals, presentations, and tenders
About You
We’re seeking someone with energy, initiative, and drive — a connector and influencer who thrives on building relationships and achieving results.
You’ll bring:
• Proven success in B2B business development within Food Manufacturing, Processing, or FMCG industries
• Strong understanding of cleaning, sanitation, and compliance requirements in production environments
• Well-established network within the food sector and confidence to engage at senior levels
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Strong tech literacy and experience using HubSpot or similar CRM systems
• A proactive, self-starting attitude with genuine hunger to succeed
• A tertiary qualification in Business, Sales, or related discipline (advantageous but not essential)
