Job Summary

We are seeking reliable and hardworking Food Production Cleaners to join our team at Brisbane Airport.

As a Food Production Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic food production environment. You will be responsible for cleaning and sanitising production areas, equipment and work surfaces while following established cleaning procedures, food safety requirements and WHS practices.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and can maintain a high standard of cleanliness while working at pace.

About the Role

The Food Production Cleaner plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across food production areas. Your work will help ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety standards while minimising contamination risks.

You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, completing cleaning and sanitation tasks to a high standard and following strict workplace procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitise food production areas, equipment, floors and work surfaces.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures and food safety requirements.
  • Safely use cleaning equipment, chemicals and other cleaning products.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the production environment.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures and manual handling requirements.
  • Identify and report any cleaning, maintenance, safety or hygiene issues.
  • Complete cleaning tasks efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Work independently while supporting team members when required.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a food production environment is desirable.
  • Understanding of HACCP and GMP is essential, along with good knowledge of WH&S processes and the correct, safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Physically fit and able to work at pace, remaining on your feet for the duration of the shift.
  • Able to safely lift and carry items of approximately 10 kg using correct manual handling procedures.
  • Sufficient English language skills to understand, read and follow workplace procedures, instructions and WHS obligations.
  • Comfortable using electronic applications and systems, including learning management, rostering and timesheet systems.
  • Takes pride in their work and maintains high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to support other team members when required.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Professionalism: We're looking for someone with good presentation and grooming and sound communication skills.

Available Shifts

We are seeking Food Production Cleaners across the following shifts:

  • 6:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • 7:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • 8:00 pm – 12:00 midnight

Mandatory Requirements

Police Check: A satisfactory National Police Check is a mandatory requirement for this position. Applicants must provide a police check completed within the last 3–6 months prior to commencement, or be willing to obtain a new police check as part of the recruitment process.
