About the role:

Challenger is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, reliable, and results-driven Cleaning Team Leader to lead our professional cleaning team. We’re seeking a committed and reliable Cleaning Team Leader to support and guide a team of cleaners, at a premium aged care facility in Carlingford. Your work directly contributes to the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of elderly residents. You will also help in the development of your colleagues and lead the team to success!

Shift Time: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm

Location: Jannali, NSW

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily cleaning operations by resolving issues, reporting hazards, and checking equipment
• Carry out regular checks of cleaning standards, equipment, and safety, addressing any gaps or complaints promptly
• Support and guide the cleaning team by monitoring performance and setting clear work expectations
• Support the daily wellbeing and comfort of elderly residents through high-quality cleaning
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment across both front-of-house and back-of-house areas
• Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks according to set schedules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Assist with infection control by regularly disinfecting high-touch surfaces and conducting multiple daily sanitisation rounds
• Ensure safe and effective waste disposal, including bin emptying and liner replacement

What you'll need to succeed:

• Previous experience in a team leader commercial cleaning or housekeeping position preferred
• Strong understanding of cleaning safety, chemical handling, and hygiene standards
• A genuine interest in helping others and maintaining a caring environment
• High attention to detail and good time management
• Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
• Covid‑19 (2 doses) and current Influenza vaccination
• NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid Police Check
• Ability to work in compliance with health and safety regulations
