At Crystalbrook Collection, we do things differently. Driven by our mission to harness the spirit of wonder, we embrace responsible luxury with positivity, creativity, and fun, delivering locally unique hospitality experiences for our community. We're not just another hotel group — we're a bold, sustainably minded collection that puts people and place at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our values — We are Customer Obsessed, We are Collaborators, and We are Courageous — we’re passionate about creating extraordinary guest experiences and shaping a new era of hospitality.
We are seeking an experienced People and Culture Manager to join our Cairns team. This is an opportunity for a warm, confident and commercially minded professional who loves hospitality, enjoys partnering with leaders and is passionate about creating an engaging workplace where people can thrive.
Based in beautiful Cairns, this role will support a vibrant hotel team where no two days feel the same. You will be trusted to guide managers, support collaborators, influence culture and help shape the everyday employment experience across one of Australia’s most unique hotel collections.
Your opportunity
As People and Culture Manager, you will be a trusted partner to hotel leaders and a visible support for our teams. You will balance the operational rhythm of hotel life with strong technical P&C capability, bringing calm, care and confidence to everything from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations, reward and recognition, compliance, workforce planning, performance and engagement.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being both hands-on and strategic. You will be comfortable moving between people conversations, policy guidance, data, compliance, team engagement and leadership coaching, while always keeping the human experience at the heart of your work.
What you will bring
You will be an experienced People and Culture or Human Resources professional with a strong understanding of employment legislation, employee relations and operational HR practices. Experience within hotels, hospitality, tourism or another fast-paced service environment will be highly regarded.
You will bring confidence, discretion and sound judgement, with the ability to build trust quickly and work collaboratively with leaders at all levels. Most importantly, you will be someone who believes culture is created through consistent actions, thoughtful leadership and the way people feel at work every day.
You will love this role if you are someone who:
- Enjoys partnering to create practical, people-focused solutions
- Has strong employee relations, compliance and HR advisory experience
- Thrives in a fast-paced, people-rich environment
- Can balance empathy with commercial thinking and sound judgement
- Believes onboarding, engagement and leadership support are critical to retention
- Wants to contribute to a bold, creative and sustainably minded hotel collection
This is more than a HR role. It is an opportunity to influence culture, strengthen leadership capability and elevate the collaborator experience across a hotel environment filled with energy, pace and possibility.
What we offer
- A full or part time opportunity based within one of our Cairns based hotels
- The chance to influence culture and people experience in a highly visible role
- A collaborative hotel environment where your contribution will be valued
- Career growth within a progressive and expanding hotel collection
- A team culture that celebrates personality, innovation and genuine connection
- Access to a great range of Crystalbrook benefits
