About the role

Our Sydney Property team is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead and grow a sophisticated property and real estate practice, working closely with leading clients and industry participants.

This role will see you advising on property and real estate transactions and acting as a trusted adviser to clients across a range of sectors. Your work will include:

• Advising clients on complex property and real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, development projects and joint ventures
• Acting for property developers, funds managers and corporate clients on property investments and transactions
• Leading negotiations and managing transactions from structuring through to completion
• Providing strategic legal and commercial advice on property transactions, financing arrangements and related corporate structures
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact on high-value matters
• Leading matters and coordinating teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients
• Identifying opportunities to grow the practice and contributing to the firm’s broader business development initiatives

About you

We are seeking a senior property lawyer with strong commercial judgment and the ability to lead complex matters and build trusted client relationships.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Extensive experience (10 yrs PQE+) advising on complex property and real estate transactions
• Strong technical legal capability combined with practical commercial judgment
• Proven experience managing transactions and coordinating legal teams
• The confidence and communication skills to build and maintain strong client relationships
• A proactive and collaborative approach to leadership and mentoring junior lawyers
• Commercial acumen and an interest in contributing to practice growth and client development
• Ideally, some existing client relationships or a developing client base that you are looking to grow within a supportive firm environment
