Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Corryong Health

Corryong Health is a fully accredited small rural health service, located in the picturesque north-eastern corner of Victoria, just 120 kilometres east of Wodonga, Corryong Health offers a comprehensive range of services, including urgent care, acute care, residential aged care, and home and community-based services.
We are seeking Associate Nurse Unit Manager Nurses to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis.
About the Role:
The position requires the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to work with the Nurse Unit Manager to provide leadership and management for acute and residential services within a broad-based integrated model of health care service provision.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Assistant management role of the service
- Leadership, coordination and management of staff
- Participate, as a line manager, in Corryong Health organisational development programs and processes
- Promote and initiate best practice and evidenced based practices within the setting
- Knowledge of budgetary and financial management of the acute and residential services
- Meeting legislative and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining own clinical competencies
- Participation in quality processes
Clinical Care
- Plan and evaluate nursing care in consultation with the multidisciplinary health care team and patients/ residents/ clients using effective interpersonal communication and the values of Corryong Health
- Provide high level communication skills that include interpersonal, verbal, written, computer and ability to work cohesively as an active member of the multidisciplinary team
- The Model of Team STEPPS relating to communication and resolution of conflict will be observed and worked towards on every shift
- Carry out nursing practice in accordance with Legislation, Common Law and Code of Ethics and Conduct; and act to rectify unsafe nursing practice and/or unprofessional conduct
- Provide direct and indirect supervision to Enrolled Nurse and Personal Care Workers with regards to safe medication management and best practice
- The model of team nursing within Corryong Health is based on the Active Service Model and Ageing in Place
- Must adhere to all legislation, Acts, protocols and policies relating to medication management
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, including Performance and Development process and clinical supervision; undertaking annual mandatory training as provided by CQ Nurse; and providing or facilitating appropriate training and ongoing support to students
Requirements: To join our team, you must:
- Tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency as a Registered Nurse Division 1
- Broad generalist nursing experience in acute care with current First Line Emergency Care Accreditation or willingness to undertake same
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Standards and ability to provide evidence based and clinical effective aged care
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and alignment with organisational Vision, Mission and Values statements
- Willingness to actively promote and work within the spirit of the organisations vision and value statements
- Good communication skills and a commitment to teamwork
- Demonstrated commitment to establishing a continuum of care model for patients and residents
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to contribute to the development of policies and procedures; the quality improvement process and research projects within available resources and expertise
- A commitment to continued professional development
- A commitment to working within a Continuous Quality Management Framework
- A commitment to providing excellent client centred care
