CLINICAL EDUCATOR
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the Early Graduate Training Program - meetings, facilitation, and report writing
- Coordination of Clinical Placements
- Coordination of the Professional Development Program for clinical staff
- Coordinating acute and residential care training informed by:
- Routine position reviews
- Contemporary practice needs
- Changing policies
- Clinical practice guidelines
- Aged care standards
- Monitoring and evaluating programs and resources for effectiveness and leading practice
- Implementing and evaluating clinical education programs and in-services for nurses
- Initiating, participating in, and contributing to nurses' clinical knowledge and skills development
- Identifying individual nurses' learning needs in consultation with the NUM to support development
- Conducting nurses' clinical assessments and competency certification
- Participating in formal and informal nurse education delivery
- Promoting nurses' professional development and education
- Fostering utilization of nursing research
The in-service training program will be informed by an Annual Training Needs Analysis. Other duties include:
- Developing an annual Training Calendar and monitoring compliance
- Providing clinical support and mentorship to graduate nurses on rotation
- Developing policies and procedures in consultation with leadership
- Coordinating the No Lift program - injury prevention, training, competency assessments, policies
- Facilitating and coordinating student clinical placements
- Facilitating and coordinating Mandatory Training and Orientations
Essential:
- Hold current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority with post graduate qualifications/certificates relevant to the position TAE 40110
- Demonstrated understanding, knowledge and commitment to a high standard of nursing care
- Demonstrated competence in clinical teaching and learning in the health care environment with a particular interest and passion for e-learning
- Demonstrated effective communication & interpersonal skills with problem solving ability, particularly in supporting a diverse group of people to meet their professional development responsibilities
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development with proven high- level leadership, clinical skills and knowledge.
- Significant experience in acute and aged care nursing and a sound knowledge of current aged care standards and the Public Sector Aged Residential Care Quality Indicators and NSQHS.
- Demonstrated understanding of how to access, lead, implement and evaluate evidence based/evidence informed and leading practice for nursing and personal care staff.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and practice in nursing
