The Role: Coregas is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join it's Port Kembla Operations team. This 24/7 shift based role is responsible for operation of all aspects of an integrated Air Separation and Hydrogen production facility, supplying large volumes of Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon and Hydrogen to the adjacent Bluescope Steelworks as well as exported by road to hundreds of cryogenic liquid customers across Australia and NZ. The role is also responsible for remote monitoring and operation of Coregas's satellite Production facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate cryogenic and tonnage plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor key performance parameters and respond to deviations.
- Start/stop compressors, pumps, and fans to meet production needs.
- Maintain plant housekeeping and assist with maintenance activities.
- Monitor and control customer site operations, including bulk installations.
- Fill and monitor hydrogen trailers and ISO containers.
- Ensure compliance with Coregas safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Actively identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses.
- Assist in training new technicians and participate in emergency coordination.
About You: The successful candidate must posses a number of key attributes - including a personal commitment to operational safety and customer service, attention to detail, computer literate, comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment and able to multi-task and remain effective under pressure.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in plant operations.
- Trade background preferred.
- DEC training desirable.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate and able to follow procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
