The Role: As a Lab Technician in Spec Gas Operations, you’ll ensure the safe and efficient production, filling, and quality control of specialty gases. You’ll work closely with the Specialty Gas & Quality Control Manager and collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality products and technical support to customers.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, fill, and analyze gas cylinders, including recipe preparation and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Handle, load, and unload cylinders and containers safely; operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and conduct stock take activities.
  • Dispose of residual gases safely and comply with traffic/cylinder condemning procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain product quality throughout all processes.
  • Build strong relationships within the business and act with customers’ needs in mind.

  • Support the specialty gas sales team and provide technical assistance to customers.
  • Adhere to HSE responsibilities, report hazards, and enforce compliance with company procedures and regulations.


About You:

  • Candidates must have completed Year 12 and/or relevant TAFE courses.
  • A current forklift license is required for this role.
  • Applicants should have at least one year of experience working within the cylinder gas industry.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Navision, and email, is essential.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high quality standards are critical for success in this position.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines are required.
