The Role: Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for operational excellence? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Operations Manager to join our team in South East Queensland (SEQ). This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and motivate our operations teams, ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient delivery of our products. Duties and Responsibilities: As the Regional Operations Manager for SEQ, you will be responsible for leading and managing our operations teams to meet the needs of our customers and support the growth of our business. You will oversee key production and supply chain activities, including cylinder filling, testing, delivery, plant maintenance, and improvements. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the ability to learn and be competent across all functions.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the branch operational teams, ensuring employees are motivated and engaged. Support the achievement of strategic objectives and get hands-on when needed.
- Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service and maintain relationships with major customers, depots, and distributors.
- Branch Operations: Manage day-to-day operational activities, including scheduling, coordinating human resources, and ensuring operational targets are achieved.
- Purchasing & Inventory Management: Manage inventory and stock levels, working collaboratively with the national inventory team and sales and marketing teams.
- Health & Safety, Environment, and Compliance: Ensure all operational activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, and actively participate in safety interactions.
- Training & Quality: Establish training plans, ensure compliance with quality standards, and take responsibility for actions required in response to audits.
About You: We are looking for a candidate with the below qualifications
- Education: Tertiary qualifications in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or Logistics are desirable. Trade qualifications (e.g., Fitter, Boilermaker, Plumber) are also beneficial.
- Experience: Extensive industry experience in production and/or logistics management, preferably in the industrial gas industry. Proven people management experience and technical ability are essential.
- Skills: Strong leadership skills, excellent communication and relationship management abilities, and superior PC skills. A good understanding of OH&S, EPA, TGA, and MHF legislation is desirable.
- Attributes: A hands-on approach, commercial awareness, performance-driven mindset, customer orientation, and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
