Youth Support Worker (Rapid Response)

About the role 

We are currently looking for a team of experienced Youth Workers to form a new Rapid Response Team. This team will be a highly skilled and experienced in Trauma Informed Care and who will support young people needing emergency accommodation.  

The primary focus of the Rapid Response Team will be to work with internal and external stakeholders to assess the needs of the young people during the intake process and ensure that the service delivery model is reflective of the young people’s needs and best practise. You will then be on shift with them at their placement as they transition into our care. 

Post placement, the Rapid response Team will complete assessments of the young people and work with internal stakeholders to develop an ongoing support team that continues to meet the needs of the young people whilst in our care. 

Note: You can be rostered to work across various placement locations in the Sydney Metro region and can be deployed at any time. 

About You 

  • You have completed a Certificate 4 in Community Services, Youth Work, or Disability. 
  • You have a certification in Trauma Informed Care. 
  • You have previous experience working with young people, preferably within an accommodation setting. 
  • You have the ability to connect and build rapport with the young people and show a genuine interest in the lives, whilst maintaining professional boundaries. 
  • You have the ability to manage difficult situations and behaviours and be able to de-escalate these situations in a therapeutic way. 
  • You are committed to providing client focused services with positive outcomes.

  • A NDIS Worker Screening Check 
  • A Working With Children’s Check 
  • A current police check conducted within 6 months. 
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence with a reliable and comprehensively insured car 
  • A current first aid certificate 
  • A current certification in Trauma Informed Care  
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid
