The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and hard-working Operator Maintainer – Electrical to join our team at our Dongara plant.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Dongara, the Operator Maintainer – Electrical will be responsible for ensuring site plans, objectives and operational requirements are met through the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical systems and plant equipment.

This role plays a key part in maintaining plant availability, supporting continuous operations, and ensuring all electrical assets are functioning optimally without environmental impact.

This position forms part of a continuous shift roster with 2 nights, 2 days and 4 days off.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical maintenance services across plant and equipment
  • Maintain production of quicklime through monitoring and control of electrical systems and process instrumentation
  • Conduct fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting on electrical and control systems
  • Perform inspection, testing, calibration and maintenance of electrical equipment including motors, drives, PLCs and instrumentation
  • Carry out routine preventative and predictive electrical maintenance
  • Support breakdown response and minimise downtime through effective fault resolution
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and electrical system upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

What you will need to succeed

  • Trade qualification as an Electrician (A-grade / Electrical Licence)
  • Experience working in a heavy industrial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability across electrical and control systems
  • Experience with PLCs, VSDs, motors and industrial instrumentation
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, manage and mitigate workplace risks
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment
  • Competent with basic computer systems and maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP)
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the resilience to implement solutions
