The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Capital Projects team in Munster. In this key role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, from concept to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, engineering, construction, and commissioning of mechanical projects.
- Develop project scopes, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants.
- Monitor compliance with codes, QA/QC policies, and safety standards.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and contract administration.
- Control documentation and ensure technical records are maintained.
- Ensure full compliance with Adbri’s HSE standards and relevant legislation.
- Implement and participate in safety reviews, HAZOP studies, and Safety in Design.
- Promote a safety-first culture across all project phases.
- Engage and align with internal teams across operations, maintenance, and sales.
- Lead project design reviews and maintain stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team, leading engineering functions and supervising contractors on-site.
- Provide direction, motivation, and leadership to internal and external project partners.
- Identify and implement innovations and process improvements to enhance project outcomes.
- Research and apply new technologies and engineering practices.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical project engineering—preferably in heavy industry or construction.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and Australian Standards.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and project management tools such as MS Project.
- Experience with SAP, CMMS, and incident reporting systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
