The role

We are looking for an experienced and safety-driven Maintenance Lead to join our team at Cockburn Cement’s Munster and Woodman Point sites. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, this permanent full-time role will lead the mechanical and electrical maintenance teams to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of our plant, mining and site facilities.

As the Maintenance Lead, you will drive maintenance strategies, oversee preventative programs and shutdowns, manage contractors, and champion continuous improvement to optimise asset reliability and minimise downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure reliable, efficient plant and infrastructure performance.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and develop maintenance team members, fostering skill growth and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance with business goals.

What you will need to succeed

  • 5–10 years’ experience in a similar maintenance leadership role, ideally in a 24/7 manufacturing or mining environment.
  • Degree in electrical, reliability engineering, or a relevant electrical trade qualification with industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of work management systems and experience using CMMS (e.g. SAP).
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
