About the role

CMC currently has an opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer with 1 to 2 years’ experience to join the company for an immediate start. You will initially be trained in our Pre-Contracts team at our Eagle Farm head office gaining experience in tender preparation, you will then move to our site based project teams on award of successful tenders, this will be after 6-12 months or as required. You must be willing and able to work away from home for extended periods on any of our projects in Qld or NSW.

Working in our Projects team, you will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for your assigned areas costs, daily and weekly project analysis, quality assurance, weekly reporting and assistance with operational performance. You will assist the Project Manager in developing and delivering successful projects while maintaining strong customer relationships and contribute to the successful growth of the CMC business.

Working in the Pre-contracts and Estimating team you will gain exposure and experience in understanding:

·        Overall Bid development;

·        Subcontract and supplier analysis

·        Contract Management;

·        Programming

·        Cost Planning;

·        Construction Estimating using Expert Estimation Software;

·        Construction methodologies. 

About You

1 to 2 years’ experience working on a civil infrastructure project will be highly regarded and successful candidates will possess the following:

·        Civil Engineering Degree;

·        Civil infrastructure experience in cost engineering/productivity;

·        Be able to work as part of a team that is driven by success;

·        Excellent time management, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills;

·        Sound engineering technical knowledge gained through your study;

·        Must be willing and able to work away from home on a FIFO/DIDO roster anywhere in Qld and NSW;

·        Be self-motivated and adaptable with a ‘can do’ attitude.
