About the project

CMC has been awarded the contract for the reconstruction of the Mount Spec Road by Queensland Government.

Located in a remote and environmentally sensitive part of North Queensland, it traverses steep terrain with narrow carriageways and dry and wet tropic landscapes.

We look forward to delivering exceptional outcomes for the community and restoring safe, reliable access through this important corridor.

We are ready to tackle the unique geotechnical challenges of this vital route, but we need to find a skilled Leading Hand and a few labourers to help complete our team.

 

About you

We are looking for local people who want to make a difference to their local community.

 

Leading Hand

To join our team, you will need the following:

 

  • A min of 2 years’ experience on a similar civil infrastructure road/bridge/pavement/drainage project – preferably TMR;
  • Reside in the Townsville area;
  • Have proven ability in leading the construction process by leading a team of multi-skilled plant operators and labourers;
  • Possess a strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to the environment and safety;
  • Be capable of accurately following instructions and directions from supervisors and engineers;
  • Have experience assisting with the surveillance of subcontractors' and suppliers' work and materials delivered;
  • Be confident in hands-on day-to-day site supervision and coordination;
  • Possess tickets enabling you to operate machinery as required and lead by example.

 

Labourers

To join us as a labourer, you will need:

 

  • To currently live in the Townsville area;
  • Have 2 years minimum general labouring experience within civil construction;
  • A strong focus and commitment to safety;
  • Confidence in the passing of a pre-employment medical, drug, and alcohol test;
  • A current drivers licence.
