CMC has an opportunity for an Undergraduate Civil Engineer to join us on a project based in Townsville

About the project

The Mount Spec Road Landslip Remediation Project involves the treatment of 37 landslip locations along Mount Spec Road. The project incorporates a variety of slope stabilisation and remediation techniques, providing exposure to a broad range of civil and geotechnical construction methodologies.

 

About the role

We have an opportunity for an Undergraduate Civil Engineer looking to gain practical exposure to project delivery processes and develop both technical and professional skills in a live construction environment.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with site inspections and monitoring construction activities
  • Supporting the review and implementation of construction methodologies
  • Coordinating and preparing testing requests and quality documentation
  • Assisting with project cost tracking and productivity monitoring
  • Undertaking quantity take-offs and material reconciliations
  • Inspecting and tracking construction materials and deliveries
  • Liaising with other project disciplines including environmental, safety and survey teams
  • Supporting document control and reporting requirements
  • Assisting with day-to-day project coordination activities 


About you

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who can commit to a 7/7 roster from Monday to Sunday, however we can consider applicants who are available a minimum of three days per week. This position will best suit a 4th year engineering student, but 3rd year students who demonstrate strong initiative are also encouraged to apply.
