Looking for the chance to play a key role in the delivery of a significant, civil infrastructure project?


CMC is looking for a results-driven Commercial Manager to play a critical role in delivering a significant infrastructure project.

Based 50% in Brisbane and 50% in our Nimbin office, you will be working on recovery and resilience projects arising from the 2022 flood events, delivered under the NSW Government’s Lismore Flood Recovery Planning Package. This program supports the accelerated repair, upgrade, and reconstruction of flood-affected road and transport infrastructure across the Northern Rivers, improving safety, resilience, and long-term network performance in coordination with Council and the NSW Reconstruction Authority.

About the role

This is the type of opportunity and project that requires a truly seasoned Commercial Manager.

Typically you will be:


  • Overseeing all commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of the project;
  • Leading contract negotiations, ensuring project budgets are maintained, maximising profitability while managing project risk;
  • Engaging with stakeholders, both internal and external, to drive commercial success and secure positive outcomes;
  • Identifying and managing project risks, claims, and variations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices;
  • Supporting the project delivery teams to ensure that all commercial decisions are aligned with project goals;
  • Developing strategies to optimise cost management, revenue tracking, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. 

 

About you

To join our talented team you will need to possess the following:

 

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in large-scale civil infrastructure or construction projects, with a track record of success;
  • Strong contract management skills, with experience negotiating complex contracts and managing claims;
  • Deep financial expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability analysis;
  • Leadership qualities to manage and mentor commercial teams, driving a collaborative and results-oriented culture;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • A problem-solving mindset with a focus on driving efficiency, reducing risk, and delivering exceptional commercial outcomes.
