CMC is seeking an experienced IMS & Quality Coordinator to maintain and continually improve our established Integrated Management System (IMS), including the Quality Management System (QMS), and provide practical quality-control support across the business and our projects.
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our management systems remain compliant, effective and aligned with industry best practice. You'll work closely with operational and corporate stakeholders to drive quality assurance, facilitate audits, maintain documentation and support a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the structure, integrity and currency of CMC's IMS and supporting SharePoint platform
- Administering business-wide document control, including registers, version control, templates, review schedules, approvals, publication, archiving and records-retention guidance
- Coordinating ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification activities, internal audit programs and third-party accreditations, including OFSC accreditation
- Supporting project teams with the development, review and implementation of project quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), lot management, lot registers, inspection records, hold and witness points, quality verification records and handover documentation
- Monitoring corrective actions, non-conformances and improvement initiatives
- Analysing management-system performance and preparing reports on audit outcomes, non-conformances, corrective actions, document-control compliance, trends and improvement opportunities
- Acting as CMC's quality subject matter expert (SME), providing practical guidance, coaching and hands-on support to project teams and, where required, supporting and developing project Construction Quality Representatives (CQRs) in the consistent application of quality-control requirements
- Coordinating IMS management reviews and approved improvement initiatives, including system access, configuration, workflows, registers, reporting functions and user support
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience maintaining an established ISO-certified IMS and coordinating certification audits
- supporting quality management, quality control, internal auditing and continuous improvement within civil construction, mining, plant hire or a comparable project-based industry, including practical experience with ITPs, lot management, inspection records and project quality documentation
- A recognised internal auditor qualification and demonstrated competence auditing against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Experience administering document-control frameworks, records-management systems and audit findings, preferably using SharePoint
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing audit, certification, document-control and reporting priorities
- The ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with senior leaders, functional managers, project teams and external partners
- Strong written, verbal, analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to present clear and concise information to leaders and managers
- A proactive continuous-improvement mindset, sound attention to detail and the ability to analyse non-conformances and verify corrective-action effectiveness
- Relevant qualifications in Quality Management, Business, Engineering or a related discipline will be highly regarded. Sound working knowledge of relevant WHS and environmental legislative requirements within an ISO-certified management system is also desirable.
