We’re excited to be bringing three procurement opportunities to the market at Christchurch Airport.
You’ll be joining a well established procurement function with strong systems, mature processes, and a highly regarded reputation across the business. The work is varied and meaningful, the team is experienced and collaborative, and the foundations are firmly in place - creating an excellent platform to contribute, develop, and grow.
If you’re looking to build your procurement career in a values-driven, best-practice environment within a critical infrastructure organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced commercial professional to establish and lead our contract management capability.
This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring that the value negotiated through procurement is realised in practice. You’ll work across the organisation to bring structure, visibility and consistency to how key supplier contracts are managed; from performance and governance through to risk and commercial outcomes.
You’ll partner with business contract owners and senior stakeholders to improve supplier performance, strengthen governance and support better decision-making across a portfolio of strategically important supplier relationships.
This is a newly defined role with enterprise-wide influence, operating across multiple business units and engaging with some of our most critical suppliers.
What you’ll be doing
- Establishing and embedding a structured contract management and supplier governance approach across the organisation
- Providing oversight of key supplier contracts, including performance, risk and contractual obligations
- Leading supplier performance and governance forums, including reporting, reviews and action tracking
- Supporting and advising on contract lifecycle activities such as renewals, variations and performance management
- Driving improved commercial outcomes through active contract management, including value realisation and service optimisation
- Supporting resolution of supplier performance issues, disputes and contractual risks
- Building strong, performance-focused relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Developing tools, templates and reporting to improve visibility, consistency and decision-making
About you
You’re a commercially astute professional who understands how to get value from contracts beyond the point of award.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in contract management, supplier governance or commercial roles
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, performance frameworks and risk management
- Experience working with complex or high-value supplier relationships
- The ability to influence stakeholders and drive consistent practices across a decentralised environment
- Strong judgement, communication and problem-solving skills
It would also be advantageous if you have:
- Experience in infrastructure, aviation or other complex operational environments
- Experience developing or implementing contract management or supplier governance frameworks
- A relevant qualification in business, commerce, procurement or law (e.g. CIPS or similar)
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to shape how contract management is delivered across a complex and evolving organisation.
You’ll play a key role in improving supplier performance, strengthening governance and ensuring commercial value is realised across our most important contracts.
We offer a collaborative environment, a strong focus on continuous improvement, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.
Christchurch Airport also offers a competitive salary, on-site parking and a strong work/life balance.
Applications will close on Monday 27 April, but don't delay in submitting your application because we may close the advert early.
