Engineering and Operations Manager (Digital and Technology)

Christchurch Airport is entering an exciting new phase for Digital and Technology, strengthening our core capabilities while accelerating our digital future. We’re recruiting key leadership roles to help drive this next stage, including the Engineering and Operations Manager. This is a pivotal role in delivering resilient, safe and impactful technology solutions for our customers and critical airport operations.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop a high-performing Engineering and Operations team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
• Provide technical leadership across infrastructure, network and platforms, supporting sound decision-making and strong architecture alignment
• Oversee day-to-day technology operations, ensuring reliable, secure and business-focused services across a complex 24/7 environment
• Drive operationaly excellent across infrastructure, systems, and vendors, improving performance, resilience and service outcomes
• Partner across the business to support project delivery, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose and successfully transitioned into operations

• A strong collaborate who builds trust across technical teams, business stakeholders and external partners

What You Bring

• Significant experience in technology environments, including leadership of operational or engineering teams (ideally within a complex or 24/7 setting)
• Strong technical grounding across infrastructure, networks, OT and IT
• Proven experience managing vendors and service partners to deliver high quality outcomes
• A track record of improving systems, processes and team capability through continuous improvement approaches
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust
